Ria Hopkinson

Ria Hopkinson is a production journalist who joined Hello! in 2022, helping to maintain the highest editorial standards for the weekly print magazine. 

Her role includes sub-editing pages with meticulous attention to detail, writing sharp, engaging headlines and managing workflow across the editorial team.

With a wide range of interests, she has worked for organisations as varied as The Art Newspaper, Charlton Athletic Football Club and The Bookseller. 

She has written on football for The Daily Telegraph and on music for numerous publications, and is a regular contributor to Clarinet & Saxophone Magazine.

Ria grew up in Lancashire, attended the Junior School at the Royal Northern College of Music and graduated with a first-class degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Oxford.

When she isn’t at her laptop, she can be found playing the violin with Kensington Symphony Orchestra, supporting Burnley Football Club and learning Danish, in homage to the composer Carl Nielsen.
