Bob Geldof and long-term partner Jeanne Marine have married in the South of France, according to reports. The Irish rocker and French actress are said to have wed at an intimate ceremony in front of close friends and family in Rayol Canadel Sur Mer. Bob's daughter Fifi appeared to allude to the nuptials in an Instagram post, which she reportedly later said wasn't a reference to her own wedding.

A source told The Sun: "Fifi gave the game away when she panicked about getting her passport sorted for her dad's wedding. Jeanne has connections to Rayol Canadel so it all makes sense."

The Boomtown Rats frontman proposed to his partner of nearly 20 years shortly after his daughter Peaches Geldof's tragic death last April.

A friend of the couple, model Jerry Hall, broke the happy news at what was otherwise a sad time.

"Bob has proposed," Jerry told the Daily Mail. "She is over the moon. Jeanne Marine has been a rock and a tower of strength over this. I’m so excited for her I am bursting to tell someone.

"Bob and Jeanne have been through hell, but they are determined something positive will come out of it. After all the sadness, we need something to focus on which will bring joy and light."

Live Aid founder Bob, 63, has been dating Jeanne, 49, since his divorce from Paula in 1996. The couple met in Paris where the singer had fled after suffering from depression over the failure of his marriage.

Speaking about their relationship in 2012, Bob said: "I found love in the shape of a woman called Jeanne. I wasn't looking for it. I'm so lucky, someone is looking after me.

"It was an improbable encounter between a woman who doesn't speak English and a boy who doesn’t speak French, between a stunning, beautiful woman and a ruined, ruined man."
