Katherine LaNasa knows a thing or two about marriage.
The actress, who won her first Emmy in 2025 for her work on The Pitt, first tied the knot at the age of 22 with 53-year-old actor Dennis Hopper before they divorced three years later. In 1998, she married actor French Stewart but they divorced in December 2009, and on August 18, 2012, Katherine wed her Big Love co-star Grant Show.
It's now been 14 years since Katherine and Grant's intimate ceremony in Topanga, California, which came just weeks after announcing their engagement, and the pair tell HELLO! that the secret to a healthy marrage is realizing early it will never be easy.

"What did you expect it to be? Marriage isn't easy, but it's how you grow and your better self – hopefully, if it's a good marriage – will then come out of that union."
"If you're fighting and trying to change the other person, eventually you realize you'll never change the other person and you have to accept the other person, and that's where we have gotten," added Grant.
© WireImage"I think we help each other and we both really respect our work a lot," Katherine, 59, continued. "We have creativity and acting at the core of our marriage. We're both passionate about helping each other, and after 15, 16 years, there's a deep bond around work."
The pair met in 2006 when they starred in the final season of Big Love together. Romance didn't blossom until six months later, however, when they reconnected while both working in Canada.
In 2014, two years after they tied the knot, Katherine gave birth to their daughter, Eloise; Katherine is also mom to son Henry, whom she welcomed with Dennis.
© Ron Galella Collection via GettyKatherine, a former ballerina turned actress, had leading roles in the sitcom Three Sisters, legal drama Truth Be Told, and the short-lived dramas Satisfaction, and Imposters. She also had a recurring role in Devious Maids, which Grant also appeared in.
However, it was in 2025 that her big break came thanks to the role of Charge Nurse Dana Evans in HBO's medical drama The Pitt. Set in a fictional emergency room at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, the series also stars Noah Wyle and Shawn Hatosy.
Noah, Shawn, and Katherine all won Emmys in 2025 for the first season, while all three were also nominated in 2026; Noah won Best Actor in a Drama, and the show won Best Drama for the second year in a row.

"It's just been so much fun the last couple of years. I've always known how fabulous she is, but to see her get the recognition that she so well deserves, it's just been really a joy," he said.
With Noah's wife Sara and Shawn's wife Kelly, as well as Patrick Ball's partner Elysia, all having guest roles in the first two seasons, Grant is also keen to audition – and he knows exactly what role he would like.
"I'll tell you what, I would love to play her husband Benji, a real blue-collar guy," he laughed.
"I think that would be perfect," added Katherine.
