Anna Ryder Richardson, the presenter of top British home improvement TV series Changing Rooms, has announced that she is expecting a baby with her restaurateur partner Colin MacDougall. She is four months pregnant.

The 37-year-old star was heartbroken after losing her first child when he arrived prematurely last year. The baby, a boy who the couple called Bean, lived only 90 minutes after being born three-and-a-half months early. “There isn’t a day goes by that I don’t think about Bean, not always in a sad way but it is something that I deal with daily,” says Anna. “I’m a great believer in fate, and what is meant to be. My son is a lovely memory in my heart.”

A spokesman for the presenter said: “They are delighted, but don’t wish to say anything further in view of the tragedy they suffered last year.”

Anna is currently appearing on British TV screens in the latest series of Changing Rooms plus the BBC1 daytime show House Invaders.
