Athina Roussel's boyfriend has confirmed that the two are to marry sometime this year.
In an interview with a Brazilian magazine, show-jumper Alvaro Alfonso de Miranda has revealed that he asked Athina's father for her hand last August.
"While the date is still a way off, we are already organising ourselves for the service," said Alvaro. "We have not decided on the location nor who will be on the guest list, however it will take place in Sao Paolo and her family is also planning on attending."
Last December, he and the Onassis heiress moved from Belgium to Sao Paolo, where they are currently house hunting. "We already live like a married couple, we have been living together since March of 2003," said the 32-year-old equestrian.
Athina and Alvaro appear to be eyeing a trip to the altar in November or December of 2005 and while they had hoped to honeymoon in Thailand, the destruction caused by the recent tsunamis may cause them to change their plans.
