Toronto's streets were lined with adoring fans this week, as hundreds of the city's residents eagerly waited to greet Lost hunk Matthew Fox. The actor jetted into town to whip up interest in his upcoming movie, We Are Marshall.

Looking casually cool, the Philadelphia Eagles fan sported a dapper fedora and a green T-shirt bearing the logo of his favourite football team when he dropped by the MuchMusic studios on Wednesday night.

His new film is based on a moving true story about a football team forced to rebuild itself – with the help of Matthew's inspiring character, assistant coach Red Dawson – after a 1970 plane crash claimed the lives of its original players.

Before shooting the motion picture the dad-of-two, who played for his own college football team, asked Red to join him in Hawaii, where he was filming scenes for the third season of Lost.

"I anticipated him not wanting to come, and I obviously understood," says the former Party Of Five star, who was keen to hear his story first-hand. "He has not done very much flying for 35 years. I was asking a lot of him, and I was blown away when he decided to come. Red was amazing."
