The run-up to Christmas is perhaps not the best time to start a diet, but Elizabeth Hurley and Arun Nayar are determined to abstain from all things naughty and nice so that they are in the best possible shape when they walk up the aisle next year.

"I've decided to go on a health regime because - as it's not a secret any more - I'm getting married," says the bride-to-be.

The photogenic couple, who are tying the knot in India in March, will be making a joint effort to welcome in 2007 at the peak of health. "Arun and I decided that when we marry, we want to be really fit and healthy," Elizabeth says.

The 41-year-old covergirl and swimwear designer, who says she feels dreadful when she does no exercise, has come up with a strict routine intended to transform them both into "glowing gods and goddesses" over the next four months.

And even though she's hardly lacking in the looks department, Elizabeth feels a bit of hard work is necessary. "I am going to do three sessions of exercise a week and watch that I'm eating a low-fat diet with plenty of vitamins," she revealed.
