'Ecstatic' Celine confirms she's expecting twins after miscarriage heartbreak

For years Celine Dion has dreamed of having a little brother or sister for her nine-year-old son Rene-Charles. Now that dream is set to become a reality after the good news she is expecting twins.

The Canadian singer's spokesperson made the announcement this week in the US, and her husband and manager Rene Angelil told People: "We're ecstatic."

The 68-year-old added: "Celine is just hoping for a healthy pregnancy. She was hoping for one baby and the news that we are having two is a double blessing!"

Fourty-two-year-old Celine is 14 weeks pregnant, having conceived after six rounds of IVF and using acupuncture to increase her chances.

She will find out the gender of the twins next month.

Celine's son Rene-Charles was also conceived by IVF after six years of trying. The singer fell pregnant in August 2009 but her spokesperson later confirmed that she was no longer expecting.
