Nicole Appleton tweeted an inspirational message entitled '2013 Taught Me' on Thursday which appears to refer to her split from Oasis singer Liam Gallagher.
"1- No matter how good you treat people there will always be people that are blind, take advantage of it and regret it when it's gone" reads the post.
"2- You're gonna get talked about, left out, used and even lied to, but you have to decide who's worth the pain and who isn't."
"3- Even the people you care about most can walk out of your life.
"Basically," concludes the message. "2013 taught me to be prepared for whatever life throws at you."
Former All Saints star Nicole split from Liam after reports emerged that he had fathered a child with a New York Times journalist called Liza Ghorbani.
In the following months Liam reportedly begun divorce proceedings to end the couple's five-year marriage having fallen for his former personal assistant Debbie Gwyther.
"Liam has known Debbie for a while and really, really adores her," a close friend of the singer told The Mirror. "He knows that she is the woman he wants to be with, not Nicole or Liza. So that's it for his marriage."
During the turbulent time, Nicole, 38, headed off on a girls' trip to Ibiza with This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby and her fellow bandmate Melanie Blatt, among other friends, having decided that there was no future for her and Liam anymore.
