Rory McIlroy's former fiancée Caroline Wozniacki said her split from the golfer "came as a bit of a shock" as she spoke to the press about their break-up for the first time.
The 23-year-old tennis player bowed out of the French Open this week after playing her first match since the couple parted ways. Speaking at the press conference afterwards, she dispelled the notion that the split was mutual.

"Obviously you're not prepared for something like this," Caroline said, referring to the break-up. "And it came as a bit of a shock. I just tried to prepare the best that I could, and really tried to focus on my match and on what I had to do out there."
She also thanked those who have supported her and said that she now wants to "move on".
"The only thing I really have to say is that to thank everybody for their support and sweet messages," the Dane said. "That's really nice. What happens in my personal life, I just really want to keep that between my closest people around me. I just have to move on."

when Rory flew from their Monaco apartment to play at the BMW PGA Championship in Wentworth, Surrey – he went on to win the competition.
The couple announced their engagement on Twitter
But a day later, he called to say he couldn't go through with the wedding. Caroline had reportedly already tried on her wedding dress.
Announcing the split last week, Rory said, "There is no right way to end a relationship that has been so important to two people. The problem is mine.
"The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realised that I wasn't ready for all that marriage entails.
