Demi Lovato was born on 20 August 1992 in New Mexico to former country singer Dianna Lovato. From a young age, the aspiring star attended several talent contests and auditions. When she was just 10 years old, Demi started her acting career by becoming a regular on the children’s program Barney and Friends.
In 2007, she landed her first acting job with Disney, starring in As the Bell Rings, but her role ended shortly after when she was cast as Mitchie Torres, the leading role in the Disney channel film, Camp Rock. While filming the show, she also recorded three songs with the Jonas Brothers for the film's soundtracks.
Multi-talented Demi went on to co-star in films with Selena Gomez, and in 2009 the singer-actress became the lead in her own show, Sonny with a Chance, making her one of Disney’s most popular stars.
The pretty brunette has also released four studio albums and 14 singles, including number one singles, Give Your Heart a Break, This Is Me and Heart Attack.
In May 2012, Demi was cast by music mogul Simon Cowell as a new judge for X Factor USA, where she shared the panel with Simon, L.A Reid and Nicole Scherzinger.
