In the 1970s David Schwimmer discovered acting when he moved to LA with his family, and he soon found himself attending acting workshops during holidays before studing theatre at college.After graduation David founded the Lookingglass Theatre Company, a non-profit, ensemble-based theatre company located in Chicago which is still successfully running today. It was in 1994 though, after several years as a bit-part actor that David found fame, when he was cast as Ross Gellar in a new half-hour comedy show Friends.By 1995 he had been nominated for his first Emmy award for his work on the show - the cast would go on to win Outstanding Comedy Series in 2002 - and David began to branch out to the big screen.FRIENDS: BEST MOMENTS TEN YEARS ONIn 2001, the 48-year-old starred in the critically acclaimed Band of Brothers with Michael Fassbender, and in 2005 David made his West End debut in Some Girl(s) with Catherine Tate, which was met with positive reception.His Broadway debut came in 2006 with The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial and he made his directorial debut the following year with Simon Pegg comedy Run Fatboy Run.David met English photograher Zoe Buckman in 2007 and the pair married in a small and intimate ceremony in 2010. The pair welcomed a daughter, Cleo Buckman Schwimmer in 2011.
