Married life is clearly suiting Stephen as he tweeted the day after his wedding: "When your better half lets you watch the @bbcsnooker you know that marriage is a fine thing."
Stephen and Elliott married at a registry office in Dereham, Norfolk – close to where Stephen grew up – less than a month after they gave a formal notice stating their wish to wed there.
The couple tied the knot wearing matching green carnations in their lapels, a nod to Oscar Wilde as Victorian men would often wear the flowers made popular by the Irish author. Stephen himself portrayed Oscar in the 1997 film Wilde.
"Oh and @ElliottGSpencer and I had our vows witnessed by a mini Oscar Wilde. Because one should. #greencarnations," he revealed.

As only a couple of weeks had passed since "a certain cat" had been let "out of a certain bag" and Stephen and Elliott's engagement had been announced, the couple's wedding came as a surprise to most.
"Gosh. @ElliottGSpencer and I go into a room as two people, sign a book and leave as one. Amazing," wrote Stephen on the same social media site, gaining 33,000 "favourites" for his post.

Just as Stephen's fans flocked to Twitter to send in their congratulatory posts, his followers and famous friends reacted in the same joyous way after the low-key wedding.
"It's happened! @ElliottGSpencer has made an honest man of m'col. Love and happiness to all!!" wrote Stephen's long-time collaborator Hugh Laurie, in a post that was retweeted by each newlywed.
"@stephenfry @ElliottGSpencer Gor. Geous. Xxx," commented Derren Brown, while Sherlock star Mark Gatiss wrote: "@stephenfry @ElliottGSpencer Wonderful! Congratulations to you both.xx."
