Michael Keaton talks about interest in his 'handsome dude' son after speech went viral

Michael Keaton has spoken out about the interest in his son Sean Douglas after he became the unlikely star of the Golden Globes in January. The actor praised his son when he accepted an award for his performance in Birdman, and the video soon went viral as fans showed their appreciation for the handsome 31-year-old.

Talking on the red carpet at the 2015 SAG Awards, Michael admitted that he had seen the comments about his son's attractiveness, including a tweet from comedian Mindy Kaling that said: "Oh hello Michael Keaton's son."

Michael Keaton described his son Sean as a "handsome dude"

"He's a good guy," Michael told E! News. "He's a nice person and he's a handsome dude."

Sean trended on Twitter after he accompanied his father to the Golden Globes, and will return to the red carpet in February as he is said to join Michael at the Oscars.

Addressing why he wasn't joined by the songwriter at the SAG Awards too, Michael explained: "[He] just came off the road…just in Little Rock with a country band, so he's writing for everybody."

Sean is a talented songwriter and has previously written tracks for Madonna, Jason Derulo and Demi Lovato. The 31-year-old, who is Michael's only son from his marriage to Caroline McWilliams, has a close bond with his famous father who describes him as his "best friend".

"My best friend is kind, intelligent, funny, talented, considerate, thoughtful – did I say kind? He also happens to be my son, Sean." Michael said in his emotional Golden Globes speech. "I love you with all my heart, buddy."
