Former pop star Samantha Mumba has revealed she is lucky to be alive after a three-car pile-up left her shaken and lying on a stretcher, a week before she is due to give birth to her first child. The accident took place in Los Angeles where Samantha lives with her husband, and the 32-year-old posted a picture on Instgram to reassure fans.
"So yesterday was a bad day. 3 car crash that we got the brunt of. My poor car written off a week before the baby is due", she wrote.
Samantha shared the snap on social media site Instagram
The singer is 37 weeks pregnant, and added an uplifting addition to her picture: "Clearly God was protecting us....just so grateful that our little girl is ok and this wasn't any worse. Serious reality check."
The Instagram snap showed Samantha on the stretcher, with the accident site in the background, and the comments left were all messages of support.
The cause of the accident is not yet known.
Samantha and her husband Torray shared their baby news in 2014 on Instagram
Samantha later added: "Thanks for all the messages everyone alls well that ends well thank God."
Samantha and husband Torray Scales, a US cop, met in 2011 and married the following year. This is the pair's first child together, although Samantha is also the step-mother to Torray's son.
She previously revealed to the Irish Mirror that she wouldn't rule out a return to her homeland of Ireland: "I love being home. When I spend a bit of time at home it’s always hard coming back to America. But I’m married, so it’s not just my decision now moving forward."
She added though that both her and husband Torray "love being back home, so I definitely wouldn’t rule it out".
"I really miss my family and friends and the little things."
