Katie Piper is helping her daughter choose her own identity. The British model and author has said that she and her fiancé James are keen not to push their one-year-old daughter Belle into being girly and instead are encouraging her to choose what she likes for herself.
When quizzed on what she would do if she was queen for a day, 31-year-old Katie yold Stylist magazine: "Children's toys wouldn't just be blue and pink".
"My little girl is a bit of a tomboy," she added. "When my fiancé and I found out we were having a daughter, we wanted everything to be gender neutral and decorated her nursery with lots of primary colours and farm animals.

"We thought that if we gave her everything pink it would be like saying, 'This is you, we're choosing your identity and how you express yourself'."
Katie is no doubt thrilled to be reunited with Belle after a recent hospital stay.
"Thank you for all your tweets and messages," Katie tweeted on Wednesday. "I'm back at home now taking it easy and being strict with my medication!"
The TV presenter, who suffered an acid attack by her ex-boyfriend in 2008, was greeted with a wealth of support from her legions of followers, with one commenting "Great news chick! Take it easy please... And have loads of cuddles with your princess xx."
Katie's daughter Belle turned one last month
Speaking exclusively to HELLO! Online last month, Katie opened up about motherhood and how her number one priority is her little girl.
"It's that unconditional love," she said, when asked what the best thing about being a mum is. "When you come home and someone recognises you and looks up to you. She now cuddles up to me so it's really nice to get home and have a cuddle with her and just watch her grow."
As well as allowing her daughter's personality to shine through, Katie is keen to give Belle a nutritional head start.
"We make everything from fresh for Belle," Katie told HELLO!. "So we're always in the kitchen with her. She can't stop eating!"
