Congratulations to Alan Rickman. The actor has revealed he recently married Rima Horton, his partner of 50 years, in a New York ceremony. Alan, 69, has been in a relationship with Rima since he was 19 and she was 18, and they have lived together in London all that time.
It was thought that the couple had never tied the knot, but in a new interview with Germany’s Bild newspaper, Alan confirmed that he and Rima were wed in New York City earlier this year.
Alan was asked what the secret was to his successful relationship, even though he wasn't married. To the interviewer’s surprise, the star replied: "We are married. It was great, because no one was there.

"After the wedding in New York, we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and ate lunch."
Alan also revealed that he bought his wife a wedding band for €190, but admitted that she "never wears it".
The actor became a household name in the 1980s with his performance as Mr Slope in The Barchester Chronicles, before he appeared as the villain Hans Gruber in Die Hard and the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. More recently, he is known for his recurring role in the Harry Potter film series, playing Severus Snape.
Rima, an economist, was a Labour party councillor for the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea from 1986 until 2006.
Speaking previously about his long-term partner, Alan told HELLO!: "I think every relationship should be allowed to have its own rules. She's tolerant. She's incredibly tolerant. Possibly a candidate for sainthood."
Alan is currently on the promotional trail with his new film A Little Chaos, which he both directed and stars in. The British period drama saw Alan reunite with Kate Winslet, 20 years after they worked together on the 1995 film Sense and Sensibility.
"It's an extraordinary experience to have worked with somebody when they're 19 and then to revisit a working relationship when she's 37, and with kids and life history," Alan has said of his co-star.
