Declan Donnelly weds Ali Astall in Newcastle surrounded by showbiz pals

Simon Cowell and Holly Willoughby are among the stars expected to attend the wedding of Britain' Got Talent host Declan Donnelly as he weds his manager love Ali Astall on Saturday. The much-loved Geordie presenter will tie the knot in his home town of Newcastle, with his best friend - and comedy partner in crime - Ant McPartlin as his best man.

True to form, Ant is said to have composed a hilarious speech that will no doubt have guests in stitches. Meanwhile, Declan’s priest brother Father Dermott Donnely will reportedly conduct the church service and has picked out hymns and prayers.

Ant’s make-up artist wife Lisa Armstrong is also helping out, doing Ali’s make-up as well as her bridesmaids.

Other guests expected at the nuptials include comedians Paddy McGuinness and Keith Lemon, and Declan’s rumoured former love interest, Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts. There will be one important person missing from the celebrations though – Dec's dad Alphonsus, who died aged 78 in 2011, after losing his battle with cancer,

Speaking of his wedding earlier this year, the 36-year-old said: "There is always someone you are going to miss and for me it’s my dad. I always hoped he would see me marry, but these things happen. I know he’s proud of me.

He added: "My mum will be there though, and all my friends."

Dec popped the question to Ali – who has been his manager for over ten years – in November while the pair were in Australia where he was filming I'm a Celebrity…. They have been dating since 2012.

He told Jonathan Ross of the special moment: "It got to the last evening and we'd organised dinner on the beach," he said. "We went round to one side of the island, the only place on the island where you can see the sun set, and we just went round and we watched the sunset go down and we did it there, it was lovely."
