Caroline Flack has reportedly been left heartbroken by her former boyfriend Jack Street. The new X Factor host had been preparing for the "biggest day of her life" on Wednesday, when the first episode of the 2015 series was screened – but was devastated when she discovered just a few hours earlier that 27-year-old Jack has moved on with a new girlfriend.

Caroline, 35, then took to Instagram posting a photo of herself holding a disco ball, with the caption: "When someone who knows you more than anyone ruins the biggest day of your life."

It is widely reported that that 'someone' is Jack, who she original dated for 18 months before breaking things off last year. The couple are thought to have rekindled their romance at Glastonbury in June, only to split up again a few weeks later.

"Caroline is heartbroken to see him move on so fast," a source told the Mirror. "She thought they could make a go of it the second time. Clearly it's over now. This break-up has been more acrimonious than the last. And the timing of him going public with a new girlfriend couldn't have been worse.

"She's been gearing up for the X Factor launch for months. All she wants is for it to be a success and she felt she didn't need the drama."

Despite her heartache, Caroline managed to put on a brave face at the X Factor launch as she posed on the red carpet with co-host Olly Murs. The pair were photographed giggling together as they arrived at the Picturehouse Central, where they joined judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Nick Grimshaw.
