Paul Walker's daughter Meadow files lawsuit against Porsche for dad's wrongful death

Paul Walker's daughter Meadow has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche, claiming that the 2005 Carrera GT that her father was in when he died in 2013 had specific design flaws that contributed to his tragic death. The lawsuit filed by the 16-year-old claims that the Fast & Furious star was not killed on impact after the driver of the vehicle – Paul's friend Roger Rodas – crashed, but was in fact alive when the sports car caught fire, reports TMZ.

Lawyers representing Meadow claim the actor was trapped in the car when nearly a minute and a half later the Porsche caught fire. It alleges: "Paul Walker breathed soot into his trachea while the Porsche Carrera GT burned."

The speed at which the Porsche was travelling has also been questioned. At the time of the accident, law enforcement put the cause of the crash down to speeding, finding that Roger had been driving at between 80 and 93 MPH. Meadow's lawsuit, however, claims the vehicle was travelling between 63 and 71 MPH.

The suit filed also alleges that Porsche had been aware of their Carrera GT having "a history of instability and control issues," and that the defect could have been corrected by installing a stability management system, according to documents obtained by TMZ.

Meadow launched the Paul Walker Foundation in her father's honour earlier this month

Jeff Milam, an attorney representing Meadow, told the website, "The bottom line is that the Porsche Carrera GT is a dangerous car. It doesn't belong on the street. And we shouldn't be without Paul Walker or his friend, Roger Rodas."

Paul tragically passed away alongside his friend in November 2013 at the age of 40 in Santa Clarita, California.
