Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is reportedly set to drop her married name following her split from husband Jean-Bernard. The 32-year-old X Factor judge is said to be reverting back to either her maiden name Tweedy, or Cole, from her previous marriage to footballer Ashley Cole.

According to the Sun, the star will simply be known as Cheryl until her divorce is finalised.

Cheryl's desire to put her marriage behind her won’t come as a big surprise to her fans; the singer seems to have moved on with One Direction star Liam Payne. After much speculation, 22-year-old Liam seemed to confirm the new romance at the weekend by changing his Instagram profile picture to a black and white snapshot of the couple cuddled up together, which he simply captioned: "Happy."

It's thought that the pair have been romantically involved since December, when they reunited during the X Factor final.

A source told the Sun: "Cheryl and Liam are in a relationship. It was unexpected but they’ve both made each other incredibly happy. They’ve always got on well and share many of the same interests, but there was never anything romantic between them in the past.

"Their relationship developed very quickly in December after the X Factor final where One Direction gave their final performance before starting their hiatus. Liam is madly in love. This is the real deal."

Any suggestions that the relationship might just be a passing fling seem to have been further laid to rest by Liam's new hand tattoo. The inked rose artwork seems to be a homage to Cheryl's infamous lower back tattoo – proving how "madly in love" Liam is with the singer.

The 1D star also seems to have had the seal of approval from the ladies in Cheryl's life. "Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts and Cheryl's mum Joan have all told Cheryl to go for it, as they think he could be just what she needs at the moments," a source told the Mirror.

Certainly the new couple aren't hiding their romance; eagle eyed fans have noticed Cheryl and Liam leaving loved-up Instagram comments for each other, from hearts to blowing emoji kisses.
