Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston have ended their three month romance. A source close to the couple confirmed the news to People, adding that the split was "amicable". The high-profile pair are last known to have spent time together in mid-August when the singer sent her plane to pick Tom up from Australia, where he was filming Thor: Ragnarok. He then travelled to her home in Rhode Island for the weekend together.
Tom, 35, and Taylor, 26, went public with their romance in June when they were photographed kissing on a beach. What followed was a whirlwind romance; within weeks the couple had met each other's parents, travelled around the world together, and celebrated 4 July at Taylor's annual star studded party.

The endless photos of the pair together – including one of Tom wearing an 'I heart TS' t-shirt – did draw scrutiny, however, with some even questioning whether it was a real relationship or a 'showmance'.
But despite the blaze of publicity surrounding those first few weeks together, the relationship is said to have "fizzled" out, with Taylor reportedly concerned with the public displays of affection.
"She was the one to put the brakes on the relationship," a source close to the couple told Us Weekly. "Tom wanted the relationship to be more public than she was comfortable with. Taylor knew the backlash that comes with public displays of affection but Tom didn't listen to her concerns when she brought them up."

Now that they have split, the English actor is "embarrassed that the relationship fizzled out".
"It was an intense start," another insider said of their whirlwind romance. "No one can keep that kind of momentum going.
"They get along great and will remain friends, but they just don't see it working romantically right now."
