Fans were quick to share their own tales of sleepless nights, while others offered Alex invaluable advice. One wrote: "Sleep deprivation is the worst, but it does get better although when going through it, you think it never will... I love my mum to bits but until I had my first baby did I realise how totally in awe of her I was, she had five of us all a year apart. I don't think I would have coped with that." Another added: "Sounds like my day but with chocolate cake!"

Alex welcomed baby Ted in January

Alex and her husband Charlie Thomson welcomed little Ted back in January. Speaking about her new arrival on The One Show, she said: "He was 7lbs 11oz – a lovely weight. It was all very straightforward. Charlie was with me and mum and dad were in the waiting room. It's the most wonderful feeling. The last four days have been heaven. We're in this bubble the three of us. It's just the best time." The TV presenter celebrated her 40th birthday last week with her friends, family and baby Ted, and shared a snap of her party while cradling her newborn in her arms, writing: "This is 40. #birthdaygirl." She also shared an adorable picture of Ted in honour of Red Nose Day. Dressing him in a cute Red Nose Day-themed outfit, she wrote: "I've found you a new recruit @rednoseday #rednosebaby #toosmallforanose."
