A woman of many talents! Meghan Markle has opened up about her previous job, revealing that she used to be a calligrapher. The Suits star helped make ends meet when she was starting out in Hollywood by writing notes and invites. She told Good Housekeeping: "I used to be a calligrapher for weddings and events – that was my side job while I was auditioning. I think handwritten notes are a lost art form. When I booked my first [TV] pilot, my dad wrote me a letter that I still have. The idea of someone taking the time to put pen to paper is really special."

6 reasons why Prince Harry and Meghan are perfect for each other

The actress is best known for playing paralegal Rachel Zane in Suits, but before landing her big break, Meghan had a roster of cameo roles. She has starred in 90210, CSI: Miami and CSI: New York, as well as being a briefcase holder in Deal Or No Deal. Meghan also briefly appeared opposite Ashton Kutcher in 2005's A Lot like Love, where she played a passenger on a plane. She stole another 30-second scene in Horrible Bosses, playing FedEx delivery woman Jamie. Jason Sudeikis' character chats her up saying: "You're too cute to be a FedEx girl. You've got to be an actress or a model or something."

While Meghan may not have as much time now to dedicate to letter-writing, she has channelled her creative talents into her lifestyle site, The Tig. She learnt how to juggle her acting career with blogging and used The Tig as a platform to communicate with like-minded individuals who have "a hunger for food, travel, fashion & beauty". Despite being a popular blogger, Meghan shut down her website in April, prompting speculation that she is preparing for a future with her boyfriend Prince Harry.

Adding another string to her bow, Meghan is a keen philanthropist and charity worker. The royal girlfriend is a global ambassador for World Vision Canada and travelled to Rwanda for their Clean Water Campaign last year. She is also an advocate for women's rights and has worked with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women.

Meghan has also made her views on gender equality clear as counsellor for international charity One Young World. And earlier this year, as an ambassador for World Vision, Meghan travelled to Delhi and Mumbai to meet women affected by the stigma surrounding menstruation and to learn how it hinders education for girls.
