Harry and Meghan were among the guests celebrating four decades of the David Foster Foundation, which was established by the 16-time Grammy winner in 1986.
Friday's black-tie gala at the Victoria Conference Centre forms part of a two-day anniversary celebration in David's hometown, with the festivities continuing on Saturday with a free David Foster & Friends concert in Victoria's Inner Harbour.
The Foundation provides financial support to Canadian families whose children require life-saving organ transplants, helping with non-medical costs including accommodation, travel, groceries, utilities and, where necessary, rent or mortgage payments. It has supported more than 1600 families since its inception.

There's also a connection between Meghan and Katharine stretching all the way back to their school days in Los Angeles.

The anniversary celebrations are particularly meaningful for David, who founded the charity in Victoria before expanding its work across Canada.
The weekend began with Friday's gala and concert, followed by an exclusive after-party at the Fairmont Empress, before attention turns to Victoria's Inner Harbour on Saturday for a huge public concert.
The musical line-up includes David and Katharine alongside stars including Josh Groban, CeeLo Green, The Tenors, Loren Allred and Pia Toscano.
For Harry and Meghan, though, Friday night's appearance was as much personal as it was public – offering the couple the chance to celebrate an important milestone alongside friends who have been part of their lives through some of their biggest changes.
