EastEnders actress Lacey Turner has shown off her new back tattoos in a photo posted on Instagram. The 29-year-old posed in a backless dress to reveal her elaborate inkings, including a large ornate Hindu-style elephant's head. Elephant tattoos depict good luck and prosperity, but they also embody, strength, dignity and longevity. Directly above Lacey's elephant tattoo is a Hamsa – or Hand of Fatima – tattoo, which represents the hand of God, and is believed to bring luck, happiness, health and good fortune. It is also thought to bring protection from the 'Evil Eye'. Either side of the hand are two birds, to represent freedom, and the star also has some ornate script along her right rib cage.

Lacey – best known for her role as Stacey Slater in the BBC soap - also shared a photo from one of her tattoo sittings with her fans, showing her getting inked at Aggys Ink in Hornsey. Alongside the photo, the star simply wrote: "She's the best."
The new tattoos come eight months after Lacey announced her engagement to longterm boyfriend Matt Kay. Matt, who owns a barber business, popped the question during a romantic break in Venice, and later shared a photo taken minutes after he had proposed. The image showed the star looking visibly stunned while proudly showing off her beautiful new diamond ring. "She said yes! Ooooosssshhhhhh #fiance @laceyturner," Matt captioned the image.
The EastEnders actress announced her engagement to Matt Kay in September last year
In March of this year, Matt posted a sweet tribute on Instagram to Lacey in honour of her birthday. Alongside a photo of his future wife, he wrote: "Love u to the moon and back. Ur my world, my rock and most of all my best friend. Can't wait to marry u and make babies. I'm so lucky to have u in my life #foreverandeverbabe."
