Olivia Wilde reveals son's reaction to baby sister Daisy: 'He's like a drill sergeant'
The actress has said that Otis is 'so hard' on his sibling Daisy
Olivia Wilde and her fiancé Jason Sudeikis became parents of two when they welcomed their daughter Daisy eight months ago. And while they continue to bask in the joys of parenthood, their eldest child Otis is having some trouble coming to terms with being a big brother.
"He's like a drill sergeant. I don't know who let him watch Full Metal Jacket, but he is so hard on her," Olivia joked to Stephen Colbert during an appearance on The Late Late Show, adding that Otis puts Daisy in "boot camp."
"He's really putting her through the works, it's boot camp. So she's going to come out of it really ripped and with a great attitude. But he screams!" she told the talk show host. The actress added that Otis shows his frustration towards Daisy by yelling "You don't live here!"
Olivia said she is navigating unchartered waters as she herself never experienced any issues with her siblings.
"I have an older sister who was so nice to me, so I'm not familiar with this," Olivia shared. "I have a little brother and I was nice to him. So I don't know. I think he's aware that he's sharing me with her because I'm on Broadway and as everyone who's in a play will tell you, you miss a lot of bedtimes and it's tough."
Olivia appeared on the late night show to promote her Broadway debut in the stage adaptation of George Orwell's classic 1984. The actress has always wanted to tackle the Great White Way, and is thrilled that she has finally been able to tick it off her bucket list. "I never really felt like I could call myself an actor until I had done it," she said on the Today Show, adding, "Now I feel like I’m earning my keep."
