Jason Sudeikis was a proud father as he stepped out with his two children, 12-year-old Otis and nine-year-old Daisy, at the Los Angeles premiere of his hit TV show, Ted Lasso, on July 27.

The Emmy winner looked dapper in a navy suit at the season four premiere, paired with a patterned gray button-up shirt and a graphic tie. He was joined by Otis, who wore a white Supreme tee, and Daisy, who rocked a white dress and a denim jacket.

Otis and Daisy enjoyed a sweet moment with their dad in what was the duo's first-ever red carpet appearance. After Jason tried to shield their eyes from the blazing Californian sun to no avail, his kids then reached up to try the same with him, laughing as they went.

Parenting 101

Jason previously shared that his kids have seen some of Ted Lasso, despite its tendency towards inappropriate language. "My kids watch it," he told Today. "One, so they know where Dad goes and they know what he's doing. But, I'm like, 'You can hear it, but you can't say it.'"

His children joined him in London during the shoot, allowing him to stay close to them despite the long hours on set.

"A big part of it is like, especially after having kids, is: Is the thing that you're going to do worth the time, the energy?" Jason queried. "Because the kids were in London with us…but you just want it to not be inconsequential; it's got to be worth it."

A foundation of friendship

The actor shares his kids with his ex-partner, Olivia Wilde, whom he dated from 2011 until they split in 2020. The Don't Worry Darling director recently opened up about co-parenting with Jason in the wake of their breakup, and revealed how they had become better parents to Otis and Daisy.

"I really value the opportunity to be completely present with them, and then to hand them off to a very capable co-parent who is very present with them when he's with them," Olivia said on the Call Her Daddy podcast. "Then, I have this space, which is permission to then go work my [expletive] ass off."

Teamwork

She explained that Otis and Daisy were able to get the "best" of their parents as they worked "really well" together.

"I actually find this divvying up of responsibility in a way can allow for really amazing parenting because we are always our best with our kids," Olivia said.

The duo have worked hard to build a strong friendship

"I mean, we are great [expletive] co-parents. These kids are consistently getting the best of us in a way that when we were together was not possible because we did not work together, but we work really well as separated co-parents."

Olivia added: "When I talk to people who are just in very unhappy situations and staying in it for the kids, I'm like, 'You're doing no one any favors.'"
