It's no secret that Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin have been growing close over the past few weeks, and now the actress' father Don Johnson has shared his thoughts on the blossoming romance. Speaking at the National Television Awards, Don joked to Digital Spy: "Yeah, that's... uh troubling, isn't it? No, she's a big girl, she can handle herself!" The Miami Vice actor, 68, also seemed to confirm that Dakota and Chris are an item.
The couple were first linked at the end of last year, when a source told Us Weekly: "Dakota and Chris are definitely dating. They've gotten to know each other really well and are very comfortable from one another. Chris sends Dakota his music to get her opinion. It's more than just a fling." Their romance first came to light in November when Dakota, 28, and Chris, 40, were spotted attending Nick Cave's concert in Israel. The pair were also seen enjoying dinner with the rocker at Yam Sheva restaurant in Herzliya city. Back in LA, the hot new couple also went on a date at Sushi Park in LA.

Dakota, whose new film Fifty Shades Freed is out next month, has previously been in a relationship with fellow actor Jordan Masterson and musician Matthew Hitt. Chris, meanwhile, finalised his divorce from Gwyneth Paltrow in 2016. The exes have remained on good terms and continue to co-parent their two children – 13-year-old Apple and 11-year-old Moses. Since the split, Chris has been linked to model Annabelle Wallis and Jennifer Lawrence.
As Chris' romance with Dakota heats up, his ex-wife Gwyneth is happily settled with her partner Brad Falchuk. The couple, who have been dating since 2014 after Chris and Gwyneth 'consciously uncoupled', announced their engagement in January. They released a statement to Good Morning America, saying: "We feel incredibly lucky to have come together at this juncture in our lives when our collective successes and failures can serve as building blocks for a healthy and happy relationship."
