Oh là là!
Qui est cette femme? We almost didn't recognize Céline Dion!
Alongside Awkwafina, Christy Turlington,
Lakeith Stanfield and Alicia Keys,
Céline is one of five celebs dubbed 2019
Bazaar
Icons covering the September issue of Harper’s
Bazaar
. The legendary artist decided to use the appearance to sport a short and sleek bowl wig with a dark hue.
The look is a serious departure from the long, light locks
we’re used to seeing on the “Power of Love” singer, but we
have to say we’re digging it! The edgy pick seems to echo many of the
other trendsetting sartorial choices the star has made of late.
Céline cemented her status as a fashion icon
in July, when she attended
Paris Fashion Week
and wore everything from opera gloves in the hot, hot heat to a giant yellow
tutu. She also casually wandered the streets of the City of Lights in a Chanel
leotard. And why not? She’s Céline!

In a
podcast interview with Dan Wooton, the Québec-native
spoke candidly about her love of couture and changing her look.
“I’m doing this for me. I want to feel strong
- I want to feel strong, beautiful, feminine, fierce and sexy… You don’t have
to always be the same and you cannot please everyone all the time,” she said.

She continued, “Sometimes people will say,
‘Whoa, whoa, whoa. That was maybe a little much.’ People won’t like everything,
but if I like [it] - I don’t wanna talk about it. They can just cross it. Don’t
bother. Don’t take a picture…If you like [it], I’ll be there. If you don’t,
leave me alone.”
The “My Heart Will Go On” singer also
acknowledged she’s enjoyed embracing fashion over the past few years.
“[Fashion has] always been a part of me, but
the way that we used to work before was maybe more conservative... At 50 years
old, it’s not to try to take the chances. It’s what I want to wear. I want to
wear whatever I want, I wanna do whatever I choose to be."
