The music world is mourning the unexpected passing of singer Lauren Bennett, who has died at the age of 37.
Best known for her feature on LMFAO's 2011 hit Party Rock Anthem and as a member of the girl group G.R.L, Lauren passed away on 29 May, as reported by USA Today.

Lauren Bennett's family
Lauren is survived by her partner, actor and dancer Kenny Wormald, and their six-year-old daughter, Harlow.
Boston-born Kenny, 41, is a co-owner of the dance studio Playground, which has locations in London and Los Angeles. He established the studio alongside choreographer Robin Antin, who is known for forming The Pussycat Dolls and Lauren's girl group, G.R.L.
In September 2019, the couple celebrated the arrival of their daughter, Harlow. Lauren announced the news on Instagram with a heartwarming photo of her newborn, captioning it: "Our little baby Harlow is here, and we are so in love @kennywormald."
Since then, Harlow has frequently appeared on her parents' social media, most recently in a post from Kenny capturing a family getaway to Puglia, Italy, in September 2025.
Lauren's untimely death
Lauren's death was announced by members of her former girl group G.R.L on Monday, who said their "hearts are broken" and that Lauren would be "deeply missed and forever loved".
Sharing a statement on Instagram, the group wrote: "It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren.
"Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us. Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved."
The group added: "Rest peacefully, sweet Lauren. You will always be in our hearts."
Lauren's cause of death has not been revealed.
USA Today has reported that Lauren died on 29 May, citing Kent and Medway Coroner records.
Lauren's former Paradiso Girls bandmate Aria Crescendo paid tribute to Lauren, posting on Instagram: "RIP Lauren my sister my best friend I can't believe you left us.
"We spoke a week before it all happened and I could not imagine that would be the last time I would be able to talk to you. Love you and miss you forever."
Lauren Bennett's music career
Lauren, who was born in Kent, first found fame as a member of the girl group Paradiso Girls, whose 2009 single Patron Tequila featured Lil Jon and charted in the United States and Canada. After the group disbanded the following year, Lauren went on to pursue a solo career.
She went on to feature alongside LMFAO and GoonRock on Party Rock Anthem, which was one of the biggest hits of 2011. The song topped the UK Singles chart for four weeks and has been named the fifth most successful song of all time by Billboard after spending six weeks at number one on the Hot 100 in 2011.
In 2013, Lauren joined the pop group G.R.L, alongside singers Paula Van Oppen, Natasha Slayton, Simone Battle and Emmalyn Estrada.
The group's biggest hit Ugly Heart reached number 11 on the UK singles chart in 2014. They also featured on Pitbull's song Wild Wild Love the same year.
The group disbanded following the death of bandmate Simone Battle but Lauren later returned when G.R.L. reunited in 2016 and again in 2020.
Lauren separately sang on the soundtracks for the movies Date Night and 21 Jump Street.
