Blake Lively was all smiles on Sunday as she watched Spain take on Argentina at the FIFA World Cup final. It marked the 38-year-old actress's first public appearance since her absence from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's star-studded wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York on 3 July.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, the It Ends With Us star shared a selfie from inside the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where she and friends Libby Glazer, Kendall Arin Glazer and Emma Gray, watched Spain beat Argentina 1-0.
The post comes just weeks after Taylor's two-day celebration, which kicked off with a rehearsal dinner on Thursday 1 July, followed by the elaborate nuptials officiated by Adam Sandler the following day.
Blake and Taylor's friendship reportedly soured in 2025 amid the actress's legal battle with It Ends With Us director, Justin Baldoni.
Taylor and Blake's friendship
In December 2024, Blake sued Justin for sexual harassment, sexual misconduct and for launching a smear campaign against her.
Taylor, godmother to Blake and Ryan's three daughters - James, Inez and Betty - was subpoenaed because Justin alleged Blake tried to use the singer's influence for leverage in the movie's production.
Justin had said he was invited to Blake's New York home in 2023 to discuss changes to the script, where Taylor and Blake's husband Ryan Reynolds were there to serve as her "dragons".
In response, Taylor's team said "she was not involved in any casting or creative decision" and "never saw an edit or made any notes on the film".
Justin's legal team was granted access to Taylor's personal text messages with Blake, which were made public earlier this year.
The text messages do not include either Blake or Taylor's names, but other documents in the filings cite it as a conversation between the two.
"I have no reason to ask, but I donno [sic], I've been feeling like I should... is everything ok? I felt like a bad friend lately because I was such a sad sack who only talked about my own [expletive] for months. You were generous to not only be the key person there for me during all of it, but also to let me off the hook for being so in it," Blake wrote.
She continued: "I always want the opportunity to be a better friend if there's something I unintentionally did. I know how busy and taxed you are - physically, emotionally, practically, so I don't expect any more from you ever. Just want to make sure all is good."
Taylor responded: "I think I'm just exhausted in every avenue of my life and in recent months had been feeling a little bit of a shift in the way you talk to me. Yes there has been a lot of Justin stuff but I've been through things like this before and I know how all consuming it is."
Blake's absence at Taylor's wedding
While Jack Antonoff, Lena Dunham, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper were among the guests at Taylor's high-profile wedding, Blake and her husband Ryan were seemingly absent.
Instead, the couple were seen at their daughter Betty's horse show at Lake Placid on 2 July, around 300 miles from Taylor's rehearsal dinner inside Madison Square Garden.
