Whether you're stocking up ahead of the festive season or simply enjoy a glass of fizz, now is the best time to go shopping for prosecco! The bargain hunters at Money Saving Expert have discovered a way of getting bottles of prosecco for just £1.50 at Sainsbury's, and it's really easy to do.
The trick involves three separate promotions that you can combine, called code stacking, which means you can get a bottle of the supermarket's Prosecco Frizzante for the equivalent of 25 pence a glass. So how does it work?
I Heart Prosecco is available in the offer, and is currently available for £7 a bottle
1) Firstly, there's a standard discount on prosecco at Sainsbury's at the moment. The supermarket has reduced its Prosecco Frizzante to £6 a bottle, or you can get fizz from brands I Heart Prosecco, now £7 (usually £10) and Valdo Prosecco Marca Oro, now £7.50 (usually £10).
The same offer also works on champagne, with the opportunity to get a bottle of Antoine De Clevecy champagne, now £14 (usually £18) for as little as £7.50 per bottle.
2) Add six bottles of your chosen tipple to your basket and you'll immediately get 25% off, due to the supermarket's 'Buy 6 save 25%' offer. This would take the total price of your order down to £27, or £4.50 a bottle, for the Prosecco Frizzante.
The deal is the perfect way to stock up on prosecco ahead of the festive season
3) Finally, new customers can get a further £18 off their shop when they spend £60. Money Saving Expert says at least £18 of your £60 shop needs to come from food, rather than alcohol, so if you do your weekly shop at the same time, you'll be able to benefit from this. Simply add everything to your basket, then enter the code SCSSEOOCT at the checkout.
The discounts will show up in your basket before you pay, effectively reducing the cost of each bottle of Prosecco Frizzante to £1.50! Home delivery will cost between £1-7, or you can collect your order from your local store for free.
The 'Buy 6 Save 25%' offer is available until Tuesday 3 October, while the £18 off code is valid for new customers until Wednesday 18 October.
