James Martin's incredible culinary skills are certainly not up for debate but did you see the moment he was scolded live on air for burning his latest dish?

The 50-year-old TV chef was performing a cooking segment alongside fellow chef, Dipna Anand, on James Martin's Saturday Morning. The duo were cooking up an Indian feast of tandoori chicken, clay oven flatbreads and delicious-looking garnish when James burnt his flatbreads - and it wasn't just once.

Ahead of his cooking blunders, Dipna warned him: "Just keep an eye on it because naan bread cooks in minutes."Before he knew it the bread began to overcook. "Quickly quickly now, quick take it out!" Dipna exclaimed, whilst John insisted she explain exactly what the tools he was using were.

She continued quickly: "One is a hook and one is a scraper - take it out!" Addressing the audience, Dipna said: "Ok guys, James didn't keep an eye on the naan, so take that one is going to be a bit overdone…"

Throughout the cooking segment, Dipna continued to direct James as he prepared another naan. At one point she exclaimed: "Not too much water!" which lead the TV cook to playfully shoot a look at Dipna which was met with a chuckle by onlooking chef, Tony Tobin.

After the second naan came out, which alas, James did burn, Dipna said: "James has burnt that one now because you weren't [he wasn't] concentrating! Your timing needs to be right."  Tony hilariously interjected: I think you're being told off there chef!"

Another hilarious moment in the segment, saw James burn his arm hairs whilst putting his second naan bread into the clay oven. Dipa chimed in: "That really smells! Burnt hair!" whilst James looked in disbelief at his tinged forearm.

Dipa also critiqued the TV chef as he proceeded to plate up the tandoori chicken: "Don't ruin the garnish!"
