It's hard to imagine the Prince and Princess of Wales ordering a shot of tequila on a night out, but apparently, they do!

During an engagement in Birmingham earlier this week, Kate and William visited a family-run Indian Streatery in Bennetts Hill. The couple tried their hand at making roti, discussing their favourite curries and even pranked a customer by taking a booking phone call.

Dhiraj Sharma, who helps run the restaurant which was founded by his parents, Meena and Rakesh, told HELLO!: "When the customers came in, they were absolutely shocked when we told them that Prince William had taken the booking, they had to sit down. They were travelling from London."

When the conversation turned to alcoholic tipples, the Prince and Princess of Wales divulged some unexpected information about their orders of choice.

While the royals have been known to take a trip to their local pub in the past, where William orders a pint and Kate is partial to a glass of white wine, it turns out the future King and Queen also enjoy a taste of the stronger stuff…

William admitted he likes vodka and has a penchant for a Kamikaze cocktail - something he described as "silent, but deadly".

Kate admitted: "I quite like tequila," surprising royal fans who never expected the royal to enjoy such a potent spirit.

A Kamikaze cocktail is typically served ice cold, as a shot, and is a relatively unfussy form of beverage. Perhaps William's "silent, but deadly" description refers to the silent speed at which a Kamikaze is typically drunk - but with a double shot of vodka, they can be deadly if too many are enjoyed at once.

If sour citrus tempts your tastebuds, you might be inspired to whip up a Kamikaze for your next summer soirée. Scroll on to discover how to make the royal's favourite beverage.
