HELLO! INVITES YOU TO CLAUDIA SCHIFFER'S WEDDING

Claudia Schiffer married producer Matthew Vaughn in an intimate ceremony in the village of Shimpling, England, on Saturday, May 25.

HELLO! magazine was a special guest at the exclusive nuptials and this week in Issue 717, which went on sale on June 4, our readers will be able to see the bride preparing for her big day, and how she looked in the Valentino gown that was kept top secret until the very last moment.

The supermodel’s long-sleeved ivory dress, as seen here in an artist’s sketch, was designed “to accentuate the beauty of Claudia’s neck and shoulders,” according to Valentino. It was made of four different types of handmade lace, and featured a close fit at the hips flowing into a full, floaty skirt. The design, complete with a five-metre train, was kept closely under wraps in the run-up to the big event – the German beauty’s last fitting was in London just 24 hours before her nuptials.

The wedding itself took place at Shimpling’s St George’s Church, in front of 300 family members and friends, including Guy Ritchie and tennis star Boris Becker. Following the ceremony, everyone set off for the couple’s home at Coldham Hall for the wedding dinner inside a huge marquee set up on the grounds. The meal included a mini pressed foie gras terrine and soft-boiled quails' eggs to start and for main course Steak Diane or Rissotto Primavera with petits pois, toasted pine kernels, tomato and asparagus.

To complete the culinary extravaganza, the guests had a choice of eight desserts, including Pistachio Brulee and Apple Tart Tatin. The following day the supermodel celebrated her wedding by watching an “international” football match between guests in the grounds of Coldham Hall. The teams were led by the groom Matthew, who skippered an England side, and Boris Becker, who captained a German outfit. Claudia saw England defeat Germany 6-2.
