HEIDI WINS GQ 'WOMAN OF THE YEAR'

German-born beauty Heidi Klum made a memorable impression as she picked up the Woman of the Year prize at Tuesday night's GQ Awards. "The only other award I’ve won is for yodelling," declared the self-deprecating supermodel, who looked stunning in a sheer black dress.

The evening's other glamorous guests weren't about to be outdone in the style stakes, as Dannii Minogue made her mark with a figure-hugging, red silk minidress. Supermodel Helena Christensen, meanwhile, was a picture of elegance as she arrived at the Royal Opera House venue in a long charcoal gown.

But the most memorable moment came when Johnny Vegas picked up the gong for Comedian of the Year. In characteristically rambunctious style, the 32-year-old launched into a hysterical half-hour monologue before convincing the entire audience to rise to its feet in an effort to cause a fire hazard.

Other winners on the night included Orlando Bloom, who was named Movie Actor of the Year, and David Beckham, who won Sportsman of the Year. The England skipper was beaten to most stylish male by Jamiroquai's Jay Kay, however. The singer, who was looking typically dapper in a pinstripe suit and one of his trademark trilbys, shouted "I can't believe I won something for style", as he boogied onto the stage.
