Some of the fashion world's most sought-after talents have been stepping out for glitzy parties on either side of the Atlantic. French maestro Jean-Paul Gaultier was the centre of everyone's attention at a bash to mark his 30th anniversary in New York, while his compatriot Roland Mouret was likewise rubbing shoulders with the stars when he turned out for a soiree in London's National Portrait Gallery.
Jean-Paul was on characteristically gregarious form when he made his entrance at the Manhattan event. The 54-year-old seemed particularly taken with a cuddly toy that was sporting a pink corset dress with conical bra, just like the one he famously created for Queen of Pop Madonna back in 1990.
Across the pond in Britain, meanwhile, Roland, who sparked something of an A-list craze last year with his square-necked, puff-sleeve cocktail dresses, was quaffing champagne with Thandie Newton. Zandra Rhodes, Daphne Guinness, Manolo Blahnik and Erin O'Connor were also in attendance for the party thrown by Vogue editor Alexandra Schulman to mark the opening of a new exhibition called Individuals.
