Nicole had been leaving the designer's show earlier in the day when a freelance photographer collided with her while riding his bicycle on the sidewalk.
Carl Wu had apparently been in a rush to approach the star outside the Carlyle Hotel to capture a snap, but had not been able to brake in time.
According to TMZ Nicole is intending to press charges against the snapper, who was given a ticket for breaking New York regulations forbidding cyclists from riding on the pavement, but not arrested.
A policeman was reportedly heard saying: "An accident's an accident."
Nicole had just been checking out one of her favourite designer's Spring/Summer 2014 collection, joining fellow actresses Rooney Mara and Naomie Harris in the front row.
