Elegant Princess Charlene shines on the front row in Paris

The epitome of elegance in a black, asymmetrical shift dress, all eyes were on Princess Charlene of Monaco as she took in the Akris show at Paris Fashion Week.

The Monegasque royal, 35, was flawless in the structured creation that she accessorised with dazzling diamonds and pearls.

The former Olympic swimmer has long been a fan of the fashion house and each year she jets to the French capital to show her support at their presentations.

Seated next to Peter Kriemler, Akris's global presient, Charlene cast a discerning eye over the brand's new wares, described by its designer as "a dream of fabrics and nature – moved forward through technology".Just last week, Charlene travelled to the States, where she met First Lady Michelle Obama.

The two ladies hugged at a lunch in Harlem for the wives of dignitaries at the UN General Assembly to discuss ways of improving girls' access to education.

Both looked as stylish as ever – Michelle in an elegant blue and white dress by Carolina Herrera and Charlene in a sleeveless white top and skirt.

Earlier this month, after attending the joyful wedding celebrations of Andrea Casiraghi and Tatiana Santo Domingo, the blonde beauty took part in a charity swim to raise water awareness.

The former Olympic swimmer surfed the waves in Saint Geours de Maremne in Southwestern France and helped teach children to swim at an event organised by club Inshore Rescue Capbreton. The initiative was part of Live to Swim day, and had 150 excited youngsters participating.
