A moment of mourning please for Victoria Beckham’s all-black aesthetic. The fashion designer and former Spice Girl has officially bid farewell to her signature monochrome style, instead favouring a look with a touch more vibrance.
The 49-year-old wife of David Beckham, whose fashion sense became inseparable from her skin-tight ensembles and LBD dresses popularised in her nineties era, has turned to the dark side – maximalism. Victoria coolly posed for a brief mirror selfie in an operatically ruffled gown sourced from her eponymous clothing line. The dress, coined by the designer as the “Spiral Seam Bias Dress,” features a front split hem, spaghetti straps and asymmetrically placed ruffled trims that catch the wind as one walks.
The luxurious yet whimsical garment retails at £1,890 and can be purchased via Dover Street Market in London – Cruz Beckham’s sartorial stomping ground.
The mother-of-four paired the fairytale dress with her beloved ‘Mini Chain Pouch’ in lilac leather that came complete with chunky gold hardware. A style adored by fellow stars and family including daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz Beckham, the accessory is rarely seen out of the clutch of the designer.
Victoria shared her date night attire online, captioning the clip: “Matchy-matchy in lilac. Shop the #VBSS23 Mini Chain Pouch in lilac and Spiral Seam Bias Dress, in seasonal lilac and pink, at 36 Dover Street.”While admiring her divine lavender apparel, fans were seemingly concerned about a potential fashion faux pas in the making. “Don’t you trip up? Your clothes are always so long!” one concerned follower wrote, which appeared to be a general worry for many of her Instagram following.
Yet, fan concern didn’t detract from the sheer elegance of VB’s outfit choice. “Stunning. You and the dress,” another added, as a third commented: “Gorgeous spring colours!”
As her latest look demonstrated, Victoria does sport a dopamine-inducing hue from time to time, and when she does we all need to pay attention.
