Royally loved designer Roland Mouret has recently released his much-talked-about memoir, Roland Mouret: The Butcher's Boy Who Dressed the World. Victoria Beckham, who has often spoken of her deep affection for the French designer, shared various excerpts from his book with her Instagram fans on Saturday.
Alongside a picture of the cover, she penned: "Congratulations, Roland, on your new book. You were there for me at my beginning, so generous with your time and advice to turn my dreams into a reality."
The former Spice Girl added: "I will always be grateful for the part you played in my journey x x x." David Beckham's wife went on to share a picture of the pair at an event.
Inside Victoria and Roland's relationship
Victoria and Roland met in the '00s, as they shared the same manager, Simon Fuller. The fashion designer quickly became VB's mentor, and she credited him for "believing" in her.
Speaking in her 2025 Netflix docuseries, the former Spice Girl said: "Roland saw something, I don't know what, but we connected, and he believed in me. He was very, very honest, and he was really tough. He didn't care if I liked what he said or not; he just said it."
The fashion mogul mused: "He really challenged me. I don't sketch, but I did start by draping on myself. I remember standing there in the mirror, in my underwear, with Roland and just bits of fabric. And he just kept saying, 'Perfect the dress.' He gave me the tools that I needed to create."
Meghan Markle and Roland Mouret's feud
Roland may have remarked on his relationship with Victoria in his book, but he also discussed the breakdown of his friendship with the Duchess of Sussex. Relaying an argument the pair allegedly had, the designer revealed a supposed mishap took place between them.
He claims that one of his members of staff contacted the Princess of Wales' team at Kensington Palace to ask for some items of clothing back, instead of Meghan's team directly. Catherine has been wearing Roland Mouret designs since 2013.
Recalling his version of events, the designer penned: "Meghan and Harry's relationship became public. Then the same team member who had sent the clothes for Meghan decided, in an honest attempt to be efficient, to call Kate's stylist at the palace and ask for Meghan's dresses to be returned. Meghan was furious and called me."
Roland alleges that he said to Prince Harry's wife: "Meghan, it was just a mistake by someone who didn't know. My apologies. I know it's not good for you and you want to do things privately."
The mother of two reportedly replied: "You know now I can never wear your clothes again."
