One of the world's best-loved and most talented sportsmen, tennis player Roger Federer enjoyed a sumptuous date night on Saturday evening, with his lovely wife Mirka in tow.

The chic couple hopped aboard the British Pullman steam train to celebrate the Belmond's new private dining carriage, Celia. Created by filmmaker Baz Luhrmann and Oscar-winning designer Catherine Martin, the event was co-hosted by Vogue veteran Anna Wintour.

Alongside Roger and Mirka, who have been married for over 17 years, the couple joined a glittering guest list, including Alexa Chung and the star of The Devil Wears Prada 2, Simone Ashley.

We loved Mirka's look. The 48-year-old donned a resplendent, slightly sheer knitted dress by Chanel, which featured a drop waist and elegant gold stitching on the hem and waist. The mother-of-four carried the brand's quilted 2.55 bag in silver and finished the polished look with dainty drop earrings.

Inside Roger Federer's 17-year marriage

Former professional tennis player Mirka met her husband at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. She retired from the sport two years later, due to a persistent foot injury, but in her prime, she held a ranking of world number 76.

Following her retirement, she took on the role of her husband's public relations manager, as well as devoted mum to the couple's two sets of twins – Myla and Charlene, who were born in 2009, and Leo and Lenny, who were born in 2014.

The couple wed in Switzerland in 2009. "Earlier today, in my hometown of Basel, surrounded by a small group of close friends and family, Mirka and I got married. It was a beautiful spring day and an incredibly joyous occasion,” the tennis champ wrote on his blog at the time. "Mr. and Mrs. Roger Federer wish all of you a Happy Easter weekend," he added.
