Penny Lancaster dressed to impress on Wednesday evening, stepping out alongside author Mark Aldridge at the season two premiere of Disney+'s Rivals at BFI IMAX Waterloo.
The Loose Women panellist, 55, incorporated spring's hottest trend, polka dots, into her look with her printed dress. The garment featured a cowl neckline with a swishy ankle-length skirt and figure-skimming cut. It was paired with black Valentino ballet pumps with a pointed toe to further elongate her silhouette, and she carried a plain black clutch to match.
Though Penny stepped out in spring, the weather on Wednesday evening meant that her floaty dress called for a coat. She chose a cream faux fur style, which she hung from her shoulders elegantly. Her sandy blonde hair was styled in a shiny half-updo, and her radiant makeup look featured pink-toned shimmery eyeshadow and a glossy lip in a similar rosy hue.
Old school glamour
"Penny Lancaster absolutely leans into full old-school glamour here, and it works because she commits to the drama of the look. The sweeping faux-fur coat, the monochrome polka dots and the scarf detail all feel very cinematic; there's a strong Studio 54-meets-Parisian-editorial energy to it that instantly stands out on a red carpet," Oriona Robb, a luxury stylist with over 20 years of experience in the fashion industry, tells us.
"What elevates the outfit is the tension between softness and sharpness. The dress itself is fluid and feminine, but the pointed shoes, graphic print and oversized outerwear stop it from becoming too pretty or overly vintage-inspired. It feels confident, expressive and intentionally bold rather than safe."
Penny's fabulous florals
The Rivals premiere outing came after Penny got all dressed up to receive the Freedom of the City of London at Guildhall, in the City of London, in recognition of her work as a City of London Police Special Constable and for her charitable work.
Making an appearance at Guildhall alongside her rockstar husband, Sir Rod Stewart, the model wore a black chiffon midi dress covered in pink roses and featuring a pussy bow neckline. It was teamed with nude Valentino slingbacks and a diamond pendant necklace.
"I am truly humbled and thankful to receive the Freedom of the City of London. It is a true privilege to join a list of notable recipients and to be recognised by such a historic institution," the star penned on Instagram, sharing photos from the milestone day.
"I am delighted to accept this honour, which reflects not just my efforts but the dedication of everyone I have had the pleasure to work alongside. look forward to supporting its traditions and contributing to the vibrant community that makes this capital so special."
Rockstar chic
Meanwhile, it isn't all romantic polka dots and florals dominating Penny's wardrobe.
In February, the author attended the UK premiere of EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert at BFI IMAX Waterloo with Sir Rod, looking like a rockstar herself in a lace-trimmed rhinestone dress, metallic cowboy boots and a silk leopard print neckerchief.
