Victoria Beckham is one of the world's biggest style icons as well as a successful entrepreneur and fashion designer, but the 40-year-old hasn't forgotten how her career first began. The mother-of-four seems to be a touch nostalgic for her Spice Girls days, taking to Instagram on Monday to pay a tribute to her alter ego, Posh Spice.

Victoria Beckham paid a quirky tribute to her former alter ego Posh Spice

David Beckham's wife posted a throwback photo in which she is posing with a waxwork of herself, at the 1997 MTV Music Awards. "Hanging with posh! #friendshipneverends x vb," she captioned the fun snap which she shared with her 3.6million followers. Fans quickly noted the difference between Posh Spice and today's Victoria Beckham, many joking that she would not be spotted nowadays rocking a snakeskin minidress as the waxwork is in the photo. Victoria continued to give fans a glimpse of her sense of humour when on Tuesday she once again took to the social media page, this time sharing a short clip of her as Posh with her head in her hand, rolling her eyes. "The answer to everything" #whatwouldposhdo x vb," she quipped.

Victoria also posted a funny video on Instagram of herself as Posh Spice

The former pop star was first catapulted to global fame as one fifth of the supergroup Spice Girls, but when the band split she began to move away from the music industry to conquer the world of fashion. Since then, not only has she firmly established herself as a well-respected designer, but Victoria has also built and empire which, by 2014, was worth £30.9million. Her catwalk presentation has become one of the most anticipated shows during New York Fashion Week, and her designs have seen her pick up awards including the British Fashion Award for Brand of the Year. Last September also saw her take her label to the next step as she launched her first ever flagship store on Dover Street in London's trendy Mayfair.
