Primark has created a media frenzy by unveiling its debut collection of bridal accessories and homeware on Snapchat earlier this week – coming in perfect timing for the imminent wedding season. The preview photos showed a stunning range of white lace lingerie sets, and a embroidered ‘Mrs’ dressing gown, along with matching ‘Mr & Mrs’ mugs and cream love heart cushions. According to the snaps, prices start at a budget friendly £5, going up to £10, with plans to launch in Ireland next month. Fans of the popular highstreet brand took to Twitter to share their excitement. “Omg!! I’ll have to nip down to my local [Primark} one,” said one, while another enthused: “@Primark Penneys have the cutest bridal wedding day accessories to make your wedding that bit more awesome.”

And Primark isn’t the only store to cotton on to the wedding market. Topshop, who announced their Topshop Bride collection back in January, debuted their range on 13 April - with prices starting at £125 for bridesmaids dresses and £500 for wedding dresses. Currently, the range features five limited-edition wedding dresses which are sold worldwide.
Designs include a Victorian-inspired embellished floor-length gown featuring delicate cut-work. There is also an oh-so-flattering satin prom style tulle dress, which, according to the store’s website, is designed to: “cleverly sculpt and shape your silhouette.” If that’s not enough, there are a further 25 bridesmaid’s dresses to choose from.

The stunning selection boasts muted pastel shades in pink, turquoise and peach hues, delicate lace detailing and floral patterns. There are also many slip dresses – ideal for a beach weddings, while Grecian-inspired ruffled maxi-dresses feature in baby pink and black.
Designed for the modern bride, Topshop’s collection ranges from a UK size 4 to a size 16, and there is even a selection of hair accessories, lingerie and bridal shoes in the range. What’s more, selected stores even offer a Personal Shopping experience, allowing for brides-to-be to pop along and find THE dress of their dreams.
