Victoria's Secret Angel Lais Ribeiro has been given the honour of wearing the Fantasy Bra for the 2017 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. After Fashion Month is out of the way, the announcement of who will wear the bra is the next highlight of the fashion calendar and Brazilian beauty Lais will follow in the footstep of VS royalty Alessandra Ambrosio, Gisele Bundchen and Adriana Lima when she dons the gem-encrusted opulent garment as she struts her stuff in Shanghai later this month.

And she admitted to Vogue that finding out she'd been chosen was a big surprise. "I had no idea that (the fitting) was for the bra—I came in and when I tried it, I cried; it was unbelievable," she recalled to the magazine. The Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra is made up of $2 million (£1.5 million) worth of jewels, and was designed by Swiss and Emirati luxury brand Mouawad.

Like a lot of previous bras, this year's Fantasy creation has a hanging pendant in between each jewelled cup, but differentiates itself from past incarnations with added detailing between the two straps, given the illusion of a necklace. Last year Jasmine Tookes was chosen to wear the Fantasy Bra, the $3 million (2.2 million) Bright Night design, for the show in Paris. The 2017 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is taking place on 28 November. So far the names of those performing alongside the army of Angels are being kept under wraps, though Harry Styles and Zayn Malik's names have been thrown into the mix.
