The Prince and Princess of Wales arrived for official engagements in Birmingham on Thursday, with Kate choosing to dress elegantly as ever for the occasion – in a beautiful burgundy midi dress from high street favourite Karen Millen.

Kate wore her brunette hair loose and long with her signature soft curls, and teamed her look with minimal makeup as usual. Her burgundy dress features a deep-V neckline, nipped-in belted waist and a pleated skirt, which the royal teamed with matching heels. It's worth £183.20 at Karen Millen, though sadly it's sold out in the royal's shade – but it is still available to shop in black and camel tones.

It appears that Kate also altered the dress for her visit, removing the gold details from the waist tie detail on the dress.

She accessorised her outfit with her beautiful Sezane 'Dina' earrings, which were rumoured to be a 2022 Christmas present from husband Prince William.

The royal couple visited the UK's second city in order celebrate its diverse culture and heritage – for their first engagement, they visited family-run restaurant The Indian Streatery.

The restaurant, which is home to an all-female chef team, started life as a street food stall in Digbeth and was a firm favourite at the Birmingham's Digbeth Dining Club.

It marks Kate's first public appearance since the royal family's annual Easter Sunday service, which saw the Princess wearing one of her bespoke Catherine Walker coat dresses in a bold blue shade – teamed with a matching custom-made hat from heritage British brand Lock & Co. Hatters.

The countdown is now on for the Prince and Princess of Wales, with less than a month to go until King Charles' historic coronation in May.

It was recently revealed that royals from around the world will attend a glamorous reception at Buckingham Palace on Friday 5 May ahead of the coronation – with royal experts predicting that we may see royal women dressed in all their finery, in full-length gowns and tiaras.

And in other happy news, William and Kate will mark their 12th wedding anniversary on 29 April, and may well share a new royal portrait to mark the occasion.
