The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made an unexpected appearance in Los Angeles on Monday night, stepping out at the basketball to watch the LA Lakers take on the Memphis Grizzlies.

Looking pretty in pink for her date night with husband Prince Harry, mother-of-two Meghan rocked a stunning linen co-ord from STAUD. The Duchess' lightweight two-piece suit featured silhouette-skimming shorts fastened with a matching belt, twinned with an oversized blazer in a peachy hue. Take a look inside her sweet date with Harry in the clip below...

Meghan styled her power suit with towering nude heels and a simple white T-shirt, letting her raven hair fall past her shoulders in natural waves.

Short suits have been taking the red carpets by storm of late, with Hollywood's elite styling out the season's latest trend. It seems the Duchess has taken style notes from the likes of Blake Lively, Kristen Stewart and Julia Roberts, who all rocked the business-babe aesthetic at recent events.

Royal fashion fans were quick to comment on the Duchess' Cali-girl fashion, which differs greatly from the immaculate dresses and tailored coats she wore to royal engagements when she lived in the UK. Some even likened Meghan's sartorial evolution to her former style, before she married Prince Harry.

"That’s obviously a true change in style compared to her times in England…Reminds me of her style before the wedding," a fan wrote on Instagram, as another gushed over Meghan's "lovely modern style".

"Glowing… love Meghan’s outfit!" chimed in another, while a fourth quipped: "Exceptional."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took a step back from royal duties in January 2020, but it wasn't until 2021 the couple confirmed they would not be resuming their roles as working members of the royal family.

The birth of her children Archie and Lilibet, a move to Montecito and the launch of a tell-all podcast later, Meghan's quintessential dressing has no doubt undergone a transformation since she distanced herself from her former royal role - and it seems her modern wardrobe renewal is proving to be a hit with fans.

One thing's for sure, the Duchess has always been fond of wearing pastels. Who can forget her pastel mac dress by House of Nonie which she teamed with her pink coordinating clutch bag by Mulberry? Or her stunning pink Carolina Ferrera bodycon worn to Trooping the Colour in 2018? No matter how directional Meghan's wardrobe gets, we hope the pastels stay!
