Princess Lilibet makes her UK style debut - featuring polka dots and royal-approved accessory

Slow Sundays in autumn call for woodland walks, and Meghan Markle is clearly embracing British country life after sharing heartwarming family footage on Instagram - her first as a UK-based royal.

The video featured her husband, Prince Harry, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Lilibet looked so sweet as she was filmed determinedly riding her bike.

The redheaded royal had her fiery mane swept up in a bun as she confidently rode a bike that had pink tassels on the handlebars while her big brother Archie ran alongside her. The young princess's look was wonderful; she sported a top-and-shorts combo featuring a trend often embraced by the royal family - white and black polka dots.

Lilibet's late grandmother, Princess Diana, often donned this look, and her aunt Princess Kate is a huge fan of the classic print to this day. Lilibet also donned a pair of Wellington boots and added yet another royal accessory alongside her scrunchie - a headband! 

Headbands - a royal staple

Once associated with school uniforms or Gossip Girl's Blair Waldorf, the humble headband had a designer revamp from Prada and Dolce & Gabbana in 2020 and is now a desirable hair accessory.

The Princess of Wales has long championed headbands, alongside a plethora of other royal ladies from Princess Beatrice to Queen Letizia of Spain. 

The Sussexes' UK return 

Meghan, Harry, Archie and Lilibet returned to the UK on 26 August and have kept a very low profile ever since.

Meghan's new video shows the family is settling into UK life happily. The foursome looked to be soaking up the countryside, enjoying a variety of outdoor activities.

Meghan shared more snippets from life back in the UK, featuring cosy moments by the fire and walking through puddles, adding a Union Jack flag and red heart emojis over the video, soundtracked by the 1984 classic 'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go' by Wham!. 

Prince Archie and Lilibet start school

Harry and Meghan, who will remain as non-working royals, have enrolled their two children in a British school. According to a letter seen by HELLO! ahead of the new school term, parents have been asked to show the family "warmth and kindness". 

"I know that our existing families will extend to them the same warmth and kindness that makes our school such a special place," the letter reads, referring to "a number of new families".
